MiratecDrone Corp. (head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasuyuki Sasaki; "MiratecDrone"), which is a Group company of Major telecommunications construction company MIRAIT ONE Corporation (head office: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President and Chief Executive Officer: Toshiki Nakayama; "MIRAIT ONE") will launch a "Drone Building Inspection Safe Operator Course" for developing skilled exterior wall inspectors using drones on January 24.

The launch of the course is the first of its kind in Japan, and was brought about by Japan Architectural Drone Association (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Kenji Motohashi; "JADA") and Japan UAS Industrial Development Association (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinji Suzuki; "JUIDA") coming to an agreement to create an education business for developing drone pilots with safe flying skills for building inspections and surveys in June 2022.

Due to the enforcement of revision of notice of the periodic reporting system under Article 12, paragraph (1) of the Building Standards Act by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in April 2022, it became possible to perform exterior wall inspections and surveys using drones equipped with infrared devices. Also, the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism partially revised the Regulation for Enforcement of the Civil Aeronautics Act to no longer require applying to the Civil Aviation Bureau for a permit required for flying drones in areas with concentrated population, etc. by using tethering equipment under certain conditions. As a result, the utilization of drones in inspections and surveys of buildings' exterior walls is expected to grow significantly due to the labor shortage, cost reduction perspectives and the wave of digitalization. Meanwhile, there are concerns about the frequent occurrence of accidents such as crashes in drone flight in the vicinity of buildings where operation is difficult. Based on this, MiratecDrone decided to launch this course to develop professional drone pilots for inspections and surveys of exterior walls.

The in-class lessons in the course will enable participants to learn about knowledge on safety management, shooting procedures, tethering basics, and drone flight plan preparation. In practical lessons, they will learn about safety management, flying, shooting techniques and tethering techniques. Course participants who complete the three-day curriculum will be awarded a "Drone Building Inspection Safe Operator Certificate" by JADA and JUIDA.

In providing this course, MiratecDrone expects 50 people to complete the course in the first year, and aims to expand nationwide from the second year by leveraging partner companies and its instructor network throughout Japan.

The details are as shown in the Attachment.
