MIRAIT ONE Corporation (head office: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President and Chief Executive Officer: Toshiki Nakayama; "MIRAIT ONE") and FIREWORKS Inc. (address: Rikuzentakata-shi, Iwate; Representative Director: Katsuhiro Asama; "FIREWORKS") will commence the joint provision of the "Event DX: Setup Planning Service" on June 15.

MIRAIT ONE and FIREWORKS conducted a field trial of "Event DX" for increasing the sustainability of holding fireworks festivals through a combination of a variety of technologies and services　such as digital twins, local 5G and DX Wi-Fi® at the Sanriku Fireworks Competition hosted by FIREWORKS in 2022. The "Event DX: Setup Planning Service," which is a service for supporting the planning of event venue setup utilizing digital twins in that process, will begin to be provided the first service for "Event DX."

Normally, "venue setup and safety measure expenses" such as the preparation of fixtures such as large numbers of tents and chairs required for venue setup, security guards and safety measures for traffic control account for a large amount of the event hosting expenses for large-scale fireworks festivals. The "Event DX: Setup Planning Service" provided by MIRAIT ONE and FIREWORKS is a service for reducing costs for "venue setup and safety measure expenses" by reproducing an accurate three-dimensional (3D) plan of the event venue on a PC using digital twin technology for venue setup and safety measures that had been performed using two-dimensional (2D) plans in the past, and performing simulations using the 3D plan.

The 3D plan enables the planning of appropriate placement of fixtures such as tents and chairs with consideration for uneven terrain and movement lines of people, thereby enabling the reduction of unnecessary orders for items that are not used on the day of the event. Furthermore, it also reduces the inconvenience of performing on-site checks of the site because the conditions of the venue can be checked from a person's perspective. 3D plans can also reduce the work required for explanations because the content of security plan briefings for local governments and the police is easier to convey than when using 2D plans. 3D plans can be shared with tablets and smartphones via the cloud, enabling smooth transportation and operation by sharing the setup plans with transportation companies and operational staff.

The "Event DX: Setup Planning Service" has been implemented for the "SOMA FIREWORKS FESTIVAL 2023" (venue: Matsukawaura New Fishing Port, Soma-shi, Fukushima; date: June 22, 2023; executive committee: Soma Yappesuppe Creation Committee) and setup planning is being conducted using a 3D plan.

An online seminar on the "Event DX: Setup Planning Service" explaining the benefits of introducing the service in detail with a demonstration of the 3D plans is scheduled to be held in July 2023. The date and format will be announced separately.

In future, MIRAIT ONE will work with FIREWORKS to offer the "Event DX: Setup Planning Service" not only for fireworks festivals, but also for large-scale events such as professional sporting events and music festivals, and contribute to regional revitalization in many regions by increasing the sustainability of holding events.
